PE Showcase Special Events - DESCRIPTIONS

Wednesday, December 4th – 7:00 AM – Trail Hike – Long or Short

We are offering two different hikes this year in the preserve adjacent to the Tapatio. Led by trained hotel staff you will have two choices. The easier choice is a one mile, one hour easy hike with little elevation change. The second is a 1.4 mile adventure with 700′ or so of vertical. You will be back in time for a bite to eat at the hotel. Meet in the lobby for a brief walk over to the preserve. These hikes are offered on Wed and Th AM and you must sign up as they are curated.

Wednesday, December 4th – 3:00 PM – Sonoran Desert Buggie Tour

This is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with the beautiful and secretive Sonoran desert. Get to know the  Vast, arid expanse with towering cacti, rugged mountains, and diverse wildlife thriving amidst scorching sun and limited water. You will cruise through the desert on your personal buggie and stop at key points to witness first hand the beauty and wonder of the Sonoran Desert. Leave at 2:30 with your own transportation to the trail head. Do not go to the outfitter’s office. Can’t wait to hear about your trip!

Wednesday, December 4th – 4:30 PM – Showcase Hall Opens  – Sponsored by Strongbridge

The official opening of PE Showcase is the craft beer networking social in Showcase Hall on Wed afternoon. Showcase Hall is the epicenter of the PE Showcase food and networking. The opening social and all of the food breaks are held in Showcase Hall. On the ground floor of the Tapatio Conference Center in an area the hotel calls the Ballroom, Showcase Hall is home to the exhibitors, the raffles and the demos. Strongbridge has graciously sponsored Showcase Hall for the third year in a row. Please take a moment to thank a Strongbridge team member for yet another year of support.

Wednesday, December 4th – 6:30 PM- Tequila Tapas Takeover – Sponsored by Integrity Fusion.

Last year Jeff Humes and Integrity Fusion sponsored the very popular whiskey dinner in Dallas. This year they will step it up a bit with a creative spin on tequila and tapas. With the assistance of a local Phoenix Tapas Maestra, Jeff and his team will preside over a Tapas fest with a Tequila twist. The opening 90 minutes will feature a tequila tasting with a local tequila Catador (Spanish term specifically referring to a tequila expert). Who knew?  Please take a moment to thank an Integrity team member for yet another year of support.

Wednesday, December 4th – 6:30 PM – Italian Wine Challenge  –  Sponsored by Strongbridge

Join the Strongbridge sales team as a sommelier walks you through some wonderful Italian wines. Classic Sangiovese will face off with Nebbiolo grapes. The bold and elegant Nebbiolo grape with its classic and complex red wine flavors will be compared with the Sangiovese which is  Lighter, fruitier and more versatile.  Following the tasting pick your favorite competitor and bring it to dinner for a second round, this time with food!

Thursday, December 5th – 6:00 AM – Sonoran Desert Hot Air Balloon Adventure

This one was sold out two years ago. Meet early and return well before the sessions start. This is billed as a sunrise Sonoran Desert tour. Shortly after sunrise, you will take off and float well above the desert floor observing the topography, landscapes and view of the Phoenix Valley to the south. Or as one has written, “Soar silently above cacti, mountains, and endless sand. Golden sunrise paints the desert canvas. Gentle breeze carries you through a world of wonder. Unforgettable memories etched in the sky.” Meet at 5:45 AM for a 6:00 AM carpool departure.

Thursday, December 5th – 12:00 PM – Plenary Award Lunch

The first time the entire group will be together is for this award lunch on Thursday at noon. The Awards Lunch will be held in the Windfall Dining room on the main floor. Thank you to Sean Tully for sponsoring the awards lunch for the third time in three years.

Thursday, December 5th – 6:00 PM – McElroy Reception Different Point of View

Vince King and the McElroy team are hosting the Reception at Different Point of View for the third time. McElroy has been a long time supporter of the PE Alliance and recognize that Showcase is an integral part of sales team training. The reception will feature some music from Alan Ambler, a raffle hosted by Vince King and some fellowship overlooking the Phoenix valley.

Thursday, December 5th – 7:30 PM – Pipeline Plastics Showcase Dinner

The Showcase dinner is always a hit especially when it is held at a restaurant at the top of a mountain overlooking the Phoenix Valley. Different Point of view is the longest consecutively awarded AAA Four Diamond restaurant in Arizona. Sitting atop North Mountain, we recommend taking the bus to the restaurant and joining the delegates for a lovely reception with dinner. Dinner starts at 7:30 so find a table and a couple friends and enjoy a wonderful meal. Thanks to the Pipeline Plastics team for hosting this special dinner.

Thursday, December 5th – 9:00 PM – WL Plastics Poly Feud Serenade

Poly Feud is the HDPE Pipe industry’s very own game show. Think Family Feud, but only covering HDPE pipe, fittings and gear. King Poly, the master of ceremonies does have discretion to play it the way he sees it and change up the questions based upon who is on trial. So put a three person team together and join the festivities. The Feud prizes this year are not inconsequential so put a 3-man team together or play solo, your call.  We have it on good authority that King Poly has all of the questions ready to go.  Thanks to Josh Cottle and the WL Plastics sales team for their support of PE Showcase.

Friday, December 6th – Noon – PE Alliance Annual Meeting w/ lunch

The Join us for lunch on Friday and learn about the Alliances efforts in 2024 and what is in store for 2025.  A preliminary list of roadshow program locations for ’25 will be announced. This is the final session of Showcase ’24 and lunch is included in your registration.

Saturday, December 7th – 8:00 AM – PE Alliance Golf Outing Lookout Mountain Golf Club by Troon Golf

Join us for 18 holes on the championship, Troon managed Tapatio course known as Lookout Mountain Golf Club by Troon Golf. We played here two years ago and it is a solid test in a beautiful setting. We have 5 foursomes reserved for a modest $150 per golfer and that includes the cart.  It has a nice range where you can hit a few balls before you play on Saturday morning.  We will play a two man best ball in each group. Dan Landy and Peter Dyke will be playing and look forward to meeting some new golfers this year!

Wednesday, December 7th Noon Kickoff Lunch with Awards

This plenary event is when the full delegation of PE Showcase gets together for a meal and welcome by Peter Dyke. Several speakers will join Peter Dyke on stage. Alan Ambler will introduce the Certified Professionals and the first class will graduate. Peter Dyke will make the awards for this year’s Alliance best projects and we will conduct a raffle!

  • 6:00 PM Showcase reception – Held at the Different Point of View restaurant terrace (top of hill) this not to be missed welcome reception is held at the prettiest vantage point in the entire Phoenix valley. Several hundred feet above the valley floor, the Different Point of View is a 5 star restaurant with a spacious outdoor terrace, indoor bar and dining room. Entertainment provided by the Poly Tones (WL Plastics). Tickets are included in the fee, but you must RSVP. Grab the shuttle at the valet stand. Sponsored by Vince King and McElroy Manufacturing.
  • 7:00 PM Showcase Dinner (Performance Pipe) DPOV restaurant – Immediately following the reception, the dinner is held indoors on the upper level of the restaurant. You will have your choice of fish or beef. Pls make your selection when you sign up for Showcase. The Showcase dinner is sponsored by Ron Jones and his Performance Pipe colleagues.
  • 8:30 PM Poly Feud DPOV mainstage – The popular PE game show returns.
Thursday, December 8th Alliance Annual Meeting

Report on year, Annual Meeting w/lunch  This meeting is a networking event along with a report by the Alliance on its activities and what is in store for next year. Attendance as a Showcaser is included. Those that would like to attend and have not attended Showcase may pay a fee for dinner.

Showcase Hall – Pretty Busy Place

Want to know when you may want to visit the Hall? Showcase Hall is your networking home during Showcase when you are not in a session. Our exhibitors are there, demos can be found there particularly on Tuesday afternoon. The opening kickoff craft beer event is in the Hall on Tuesday as well. Session Breaks are there, raffle pulls are held there, sponsored by R&L Manufacturing, breakfast on Wednesday and Thursday is also there. We are pretty excited about the breakfasts too as there will be a great buffet. You will find your non-stop snacks, coffee and beverages there as well.
